What To Eat To Build Muscle Mass

What to eat to build muscle fast?

This was a fun video I did for my camera guy (who’s an awesome camera guys BTW) his question was “What should I eat to gain weight?”

For looking at your specific diet, I would suggest looking at your ancestry…so where are your parents from? What did they eat? What didn’t they eat? What give you gas and makes you feel bloated? (stay away from those foods)

Your ability to digest certain foods is affected by your genetics? How much? No idea, but it plays a factor so I suggest starting there.

If your looking for specific foods I recommend and use here’s a short list….

Some of the foods that have worked for me:

  • Greek plain yogurt
  • Cottage Cheese
  • Fatty steak
  • Organic Eggs
  • BCAA’s or EAA’s if you’re lacking quality proteins (use discount code ABGUY at Truenutrition.com for 5% off)
  • Potatoes (red, white, sweet)
  • Bananas
  • Lots of GREEN veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, red onions, garlic (raw), kale, spinach) Typically I make smoothies to make life easier) Why Green? Well with more protein in your diet your body becomes more acidic, to much acidity makes it hard to build muscle. Not a good environment for muscle mass!
  • Nuts (almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, pistachios
  • Fish Oil (high quality like this kind by ATP Labs)
  • Peaches/Apples/ Blueberries Other fruits are great for before and after the workout)

So if your looking to gain mass, build muscle, add weight you’ll enjoy this one. Beside training your butt off and optimizing sleep these foods will help you gain muscle!

TIPS:
I prefer cyclical bulking a method learned from Ben Pakulski basically you go hard for 6 to 8 weeks then cut for 2 weeks to strip off a few pounds.
Then back to ramping the calories for another phase then back to cutting.

Staying too long in a bulk phase will make you less and less insulin sensitive. Not Good.
